Description

The remains of a tower windmill, dated 1771, are located in Neston on Mill Lane, Burton Wood. The structure features a base of tapering red sandstone, which is circular in plan and has near-ashlar quality with closely jointed masonry. Only eight courses of the original structure remain. A date stone is inscribed with `R.O.1771'. Inside, there are remains of a round timber shaft leaning against the highest part of the wall.
