Description
Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1860 as part of the Tollemache Estate. It is constructed of red brick with a tile roof and features two storeys and an attic, arranged in three bays. The central bay has a projecting porch supported by timber corner posts on a stone plinth, with arched braces at the top and a pair of fully glazed doors, accompanied by side lights on both sides. The porch has a mono-pitch roof with timber-framed half gables, leading to a half-glazed panelled door that has studs, ornamental strap hinges, and a rectangular transom light. There are two- or three-light cast iron hexagonal lozenge windows in timber frames at all levels. The north bay is gabled with a timber-framed apex, while the other bays feature small timber-framed gable roofs above the windows. The south return includes two timber-framed gabled attic dormers. A high standing chimney with divided flues is also present. Inside, the farmhouse has ledged and battened doors, as well as exposed softwood beams and joists.
