Description
Wardle Bridge Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1860, originally part of the Tollemache Estate and now privately owned. It is constructed of red brick and features a blue tile roof. The building has two storeys and consists of four bays, with the gabled outer bays set forward. The entrance includes a partially glazed, four-panel studded door with false strap hinges and a rectangular transom light, situated within a gabled porch supported by timber posts, featuring a bracketed head and decorative openwork at the apex.
The windows are cast iron, with two to four lights on both levels. The outer bay windows are located in gables that have planted timbers and plaster panels in the apexes, while the first-floor inner bay windows are positioned under small gabled dormers with similar design elements. The chimneys taper at the ridge level above a weathered stone band and have divided flues. The rear wing of the farmhouse has windows that match those on the facade. Inside, there are some exposed softwood beams.
