Description
The Shropshire Union Canal Cottage at Bunbury Locks is a lock cottage built in the mid-19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of brick and features a slate roof with two gable stacks and a dentilled eaves cornice. The cottage is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-bay façade. The upper storey is rendered, and the front includes a 20th-century doorway and door, which are flanked by 20th-century single canted bay windows. Above these, there are three 4-light casement windows with cambered arches. At the rear, there is a single-storey extension. This cottage is part of an important group of canal buildings and is included for its group value.
