Description
Bunbury Mill is a watermill built around 1850. It is constructed of red brick in English Garden Wall Bond and has a slate roof. The mill features a split-level plan, providing two storeys and a loft at the rear (north) and a loft only at the front (south). An additional two-storey bay is present at the east gable. The grain loft loading bay door is situated under a shallow gable, which is flanked by valleys of small interlaced slates. The west gable includes a flush mullion and transom window with a stone sill. The north elevation has a boarded entrance door and several plain openings. The roof has wide overhangs at the verges and eaves.
Inside, the ground floor contains the wheelhouse and drying oven, the first floor holds the stones and drying floor, and the second floor is used as a grain store. The mill was disused from 1960 but was restored as a working museum in 1977.
