Description
Birchfield is a private house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of brown brick in Flemish bond and features a slate roof. The building is two storeys tall with an attic and has three bays in a double pile arrangement, along with a single storey addition on the east side. The house has a weathered stone plinth and brick floor bands. The windows are timber mullion and transom types with casements. The entrance is located in the west gable and consists of a part glazed door flanked by wing lights and topped with a rectangular transom light under an open pediment. The gable copings and gable-end stacks add to its architectural character. Inside, there are some six-panel doors.
