Description
The Dysart Arms Public House is a public house that originated in the early 18th century but has a mid-19th century appearance. It is constructed of brown brick in Flemish bond with a tiled roof. The building has two storeys and two bays, along with 19th century double pile wings on the west side. It features a sandstone plinth and a three-course deep brick band at the first floor. The windows are mullion windows with three-light casements set under cambered arches. The entrance consists of a six-panel door with a rectangular transom light, which is sheltered by a projecting porch. This porch has a pair of half-glazed, diminished-stile doors with lower panels that are fielded and is topped with a pitched roof. The gable verges overhang and have shaped purlin ends and apex finials, along with gable end stacks. Inside, the public house retains early 18th century style chamfered beams and exposed ceiling joists.
