Description

A block of three cottages, dating from the early 17th century, is located on Bowe’s Gate Road, Bunbury Locks. The cottages are timber-framed with brick nogging and have an asbestos-cement slate roof. They are two storeys and have an attic, originally consisting of three bays, though a slightly higher gabled wing to the south creates a "T" plan. The timber framing is small, featuring angle braces, and has a jettied apex to the east-facing gable. The windows are flush casements, with some in dormers and within the gables. Original brick stacks have been replaced. A lean-to addition is present at the rear (west). Internally, there are wide-boarded doors on strap hinges, Ovolo and bevelled beams, and an inglenook beam. The building is said to have formerly been used as an inn.
