Description
Linkman's hut adjacent to Tilstone Fearnall Lock is a structure from the mid to late 19th century. It is built of red and blue header bond brick with stone dressings and features a brick roof. The hut has a circular plan. On the canal front, there is a carved plank door at the center, which is topped with a chamfered stone lintel. There are square windows on the sides, each with chamfered sills and lintels. The hut is topped with roll-moulded stone coping and a parapet, and it has a domed roof that includes a central chimney pot. There is a similar hut located adjacent to Beeston Stone Lock in Tiverton.
