Description
Tilstonebank Cottage is a former group of three cottages that has been converted into a single dwelling. It dates from the early 17th century and features a timber frame with plastered brick nogging and a tiled roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a modern wing added to the north. The east gable displays small framing with small angle braces. The entrance has a ledged and battened door fitted with replaced strap hinges. The original mullion windows have been replaced with casement windows, and those on the first floor are situated beneath added gabled dormers that have timbered apexes and finials. The cottage has gable stacks and a stack near the centre. Inside, the cottage has been modernised, but some bevelled beams and exposed ceiling joists remain.
