Description
Bank Cottage is a former pair of cottages, now a single dwelling, dating from the early 17th century with some alterations. The building features a brick nogged timber frame and a tiled roof. It is a single storey with an attic and has three window bays. The front and rear display symmetrical small framing with angle braces. The gables are primarily constructed of brickwork. There is a ledged and battened door within a frame that has an ogee head, and a matching shaped head is found in the built-up panel to the east. The cottage has a blue brick replacement plinth and an inserted ground sill. The ground floor casements have been replaced, although some retain leaded lights. There are two gabled dormers with lattice casements and barge boards, and the roof features courses of shaped tiles. The stacks have sinkings that divide the flues and are topped with blue brick caps. Inside, the timbers in the internal walls include ovolo moulded and bevelled beams, along with exposed joists.
