Description

The Smithy is a mid-19th century building, originally a smithy and later used for light engineering. It is constructed of red brick with a roof mainly of shaped tiles. The building has a "T" shaped plan, consisting of a two-bay, single-story and attic main block, with a lower, single-story, one-bay addition to the east. The main block has two-light casement windows on the ground floor, and a gabled roof dormer containing a single-light casement. The east extension has a single-light casement window. The roof features roll-moulded gable copings with kneelers, and reducing gable end stacks. The rear west wing contains a large door opening and early 20th century windows.
