Description

Tilstone Fearnall Mill, now a house, was built in the late 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern. The mill is three storeys high. The front, facing the road, has three bays arranged symmetrically. Vitrified headers are visible in the brickwork. The central doorway is located on the first floor, reflecting the sloping ground that rises to the rear. Above the doorway is a pulley gable, and there is a loft doorway, now glazed. Windows on either side have six panes per sash in cast-iron frames, with stone wedge lintels. The gable ends feature lunette windows in the gables, and lower windows with 6 x 7 panes to the first floor and ground floor on the right. The ground floor window is obscured on the left side. A later gabled wing has been added to the left of the rear elevation.
