Description
Priestland is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, featuring alterations and additions. It is constructed of brown brick in Flemish bond and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, with a sandstone plinth. The windows are slightly recessed sashes with glazing bars, stone sills, and skewback heads. The entrance has a replaced oak doorcase with fluted pilasters, panelled lining, a nine-panel door with fielded panels, a rectangular transom light, and an open pediment. A saw-tooth course is present at the eaves, and there are gable end stacks.
Inside, the farmhouse has panelled linings to the windows, six-panel doors, and an 18th-century or earlier sandstone mantel featuring carved angels and mouchettes. The interior also includes an early deep bevelled beam and timber framing studs laid flat and used as joists, along with exposed softwood beams and joists. The floors are made of oak boards.
