Description
The Image House is an early 19th-century cottage located on Whitchurch Road in Bunbury. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has two bays, with lean-to additions on the south gable and the rear, and a sandstone plinth. The ground floor features two-light flush casements with single glazing bars and cambered arches. There is a boarded door located in a porch supported by carved oak posts, which have sandstone heads as caps. On the first floor, stone-carved male figures wearing hats flank the windows. The cottage has gable end stacks. Inside, there are exposed beams and joists, as well as boarded doors on strap hinges. This cottage is noted for its appearance in "The Shiney Night" by Beatrice Tunstall.
