Description
This is a milepost located on the Shropshire Union Canal, approximately 100 metres north of Baddington Lane Bridge (Number 88). It dates from the early 19th century and is made of cast iron. The milepost features a circular post with a domed top and a cambered plate that is divided into three panels. The inscriptions on the panels indicate the distances to various locations: Nantwich 2 miles, Authersley Junction 37 miles, and Norbury Junction 21½ miles.
