Description

Woodworth Green Farmhouse is an early 17th-century farmhouse, but largely of early 19th-century appearance. The farmhouse is constructed of red brick with a slate roof. It is two storeys high, with a two-bay garden front (facing West) and a two-bay entrance front, incorporating a north-facing gable, creating an "F" shaped plan. A sandstone plinth runs along the base of the building, and the entrance is accessed via modern porches with boarded doors. The ground floor has flush casement windows with segmental arches. The gables are finished with barge boards.

Inside, the farmhouse features wide boarded doors. A carved inglenook beam is present, incorporating channels, ribs, and billets. There are ovolo moulded and bevelled beams, and exposed ceiling joists. The wide staircase, reportedly from Betton Hall, Shropshire, has treads and risers inlaid with Walnut, Mahogany and Sycamore, a turned newel, a moulded handrail, a wrought iron balustrade, a planted apron mould and spandrel panelling.
