Description
The lodge west of Haughton Hall, built around 1891, features red sandstone and oak framing with a gabled tile roof. It is a single-storey building with an attic, consisting of two bays and a one-bay return, designed in the Elizabethan style. The lodge has a high ashlar cavetto moulded plinth and close studding with plastered brick infilling. It also showcases crown mould and coved quatrefoil eaves, along with mullion windows that have metal opening lights and leaded glazing. The projecting gables include a bressumer, close studding, and oak bargeboards. Additionally, there is a four-flue Accrington brick stack made of moulded bricks, featuring separated flues with chevron and spiral treatments.
