Description
Garden Cottage is a late 17th-century cottage featuring a brick nogged timber frame and a slate roof. The building has two storeys and four window bays, with a high sandstone plinth. The exterior showcases close studding with 22 panels, a middle rail, and short angle and tension braces. It has three-light cast-iron lattice windows. At the rear, the framing is larger, divided into only 16 panels with a single rail over the windows. The rear garden front includes three 4-light windows, and the entrance consists of a pair of French windows. The north gable features a slightly projecting bressumer, and there is a central brick chimney stack. Inside, the cottage has deep bevelled beams and wide boarded doors.
