Description
Endon Lodge is a former lodge that has been converted into a house, built around 1850 for William Clayton, with 20th-century extensions. The building is constructed from coursed, squared buff sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a pyramidal Welsh slate roof with a red tile ridge and a stone chimney. It has a hexagonal shape and stands two storeys tall, with 2-light casements set in chamfered stone surrounds on three of its faces. A stone band at the eaves supports ashlar castellations, and the entrance door is now located in the extension at the rear. This lodge was likely built during the period when Endon Hall was being extended around 1850.
