Description
Crossley Hall is a late 16th century or early 17th century building that has been restored. It features a timber frame with some wattle and daub, but is mainly filled with restored brick and has some sections with sham painted timber frame. The building is two storeys high and has 18th and 19th century casement windows with forked glazing bars. The central doorway is made of oak and has iron-studded doors hung on wrought iron strap hinges. The gabled ends each have a massive stone chimney with restored brick stacks, and the roof is covered with old stone slates. Inside, the ground storey boasts good moulded ceiling beams. Crossley Hall was likely once the hall of a subordinate manor to Buglawton.
