Description
Church House is a house dating from the early to mid-17th century, with later alterations. It features a timber frame with a stone plinth and brickwork in English garden wall bond, topped with a stone slate roof. The building has a T-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall.
On the south front, there is a projecting gabled end to the left, with a brick clasping buttress formed by the return of the brick western front. A corner post is located on the right side. The rest of the front is rendered to imitate timber framing, which exists beneath the render, with large framing indicated by four upright posts in the wing to the left. The east front is made of brick and rendered brick, while all the windows date from the 19th century.
The west front is constructed of brick and features a door to the left of centre, along with three and two-light casement windows on the ground and first floors, which have ashlar lintels and sills. Inside, the parlour dining room showcases ovolo-moulded ceiling beams.
