Description
The Wadhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with some parts rebuilt in the mid-19th century and further alterations in the early and mid-20th centuries. It features a timber frame with rendered infill, an addition of random rubble, and a brick front with a tiled roof. The building has a T-plan, with the stem extending to the rear (northeast) from the 17th century and the front range from the 19th century.
On the garden front, which faces southwest, the house has three storeys. It includes a moulded stone cornice and three windows that are 16-pane 20th-century boxed sashes set beneath plastered wedge lintels. The second floor has 2-light casements. The ground floor features a central entrance with a 20th-century porch that has a stone-coped parapet, a semi-elliptical fanlight, and a panelled door. The rear wing retains exposed chamfered and stopped beams, with the framing consisting of six square panels high.
