Description

Overton Green Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, rendered infill, and Flemish bond brick, topped with a slate roof. The entrance front features a timber-framed projecting gabled wing on the right, which has an ashlar plinth and 7 x 2 cells of small-framing at ground floor level, supported by passing tension braces. Moulded brackets at the corner posts hold up the jettied first floor, which includes an ovolo-moulded bressumer. The first floor consists of 7 x 3 cells of small-framing with angle braces and has casement windows of three lights set in moulded wooden surrounds on both floors. The gable is also jettied and features small-framing with a blocked window at the center.

To the left, there are 19th and 20th-century additions, including a 20th-century lean-to porch on the right with a doorway and a three-light window, alongside two three-light and one single-light windows. Above these are two three-light windows, with the right one located in a gabled dormer. A further lean-to is situated at the far left. On the right side of the farmhouse, there is a large two-flue brick chimney stack with offsets positioned left of center, flanked by two sections of 4 cells of small-framing with angle braces. To the far right, there is a section of brick walling.
