Description
SMALLWOOD C.P. MARTIN'S MOSS SJ 86 SW 4/106 Overton Green Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Late C16/early C17. Timber-framed with rendered infill and Flemish bond brick with a slate roof. The entrance front has a timber-framed projecting gabled wing at right with an ashlar plinth and 7 x 2 cells of small-framing at ground floor level with passing tension braces. Moulded brackets to the corner posts support the jettied first floor which has an ovolo-moulded bressumer. The first floor has 7 x 3 cells of small-framing with angle braces. Both floors have casement windows of 3 lights set in moulded wooden surrounds. The gable is also jettied and has small-framing with a blocked window to the centre. To left of this are C19 and C20 additions which consist of a C20 lean-to porch at right with a doorway and a 3-light window, to left of which are two 3-light and one single-light windows. Above these are two 3-light windows, that at right being in a gabled dormer. To far left is a further lean-to. The right hand side has a massive 2-flue brick chimney stack with offsets at left of centre to either side of which are 2 x 4 cells of small-framing with angle braces. To far right is a portion of brick walling.
