Description
Dean Hill Farmhouse South is a farmhouse dating to circa 1621. It is timber framed and the outer walls were subsequently refaced with 19th-century random bond brick. The roof is covered with plain tiles, originally stone slate. The building is two storeys high. The front of the farmhouse features a slightly projecting gabled wing on the right, incorporating a cambered headed three-light ground-floor window and a three-light casement window to the first floor, with a timber-framed gable, now boarded over. To the left of this wing, at ground floor level, is a door to the right and two 3-light casement windows of 19th and 20th-century dates. The first floor has one three-light casement window to the right. To the left of the first floor is a timber insert, added to the new brickwork, bearing the inscription "TMS 1621" with an ogee moulding beneath. The roof has one ridge stack to the left of centre, one gable stack to the far left, and a further stack to the right. A 19th-century gabled wing projects from the rear of the house, positioned towards the right-hand side. Internally, one ground floor room has exposed small framing to the internal walls. Two rooms retain ceiling beams with double ovolo mouldings.
