Description
Yewtree Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with additions from the 18th century. It features a timber frame with brick and rendered brick infill, topped by a thatched roof covered in corrugated iron sheeting. The building has a T-shaped plan and stands two storeys high.
The entrance front has a brick plinth supporting nine by three cells of small framing. There is a 19th-century door at the centre, which is sheltered by a 19th-century gabled porch, and on either side, there are three-light casement windows. On the first floor, there is a three-light casement window on the left and a two-light window on the right. The eaves are boarded.
The right gable end features whitewashed Flemish bond brickwork with a three-light cambered headed window on the ground floor. Adjacent to this is the 18th-century wing, which has 19th and 20th-century fenestration consisting of two-light casement windows. The left gable end has six by three cells of small framing, with angle braces at the corners and uprights, and a V-strut at the gable. To the left, there is a lean-to under the same roof, with small-framed walls and one panel of wattle and daub infill.
