Description
The Swan Inn is a public house that dates back to the 17th century, with early 19th century and 20th century additions and alterations. It is constructed of brick with a painted pebbledash render and has a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high.
The entrance front features three bays, with a semi-circular early 19th century bow on the left side. This bow has 7-light windows on both the ground and first floors, with a wedge lintel above the ground floor window and painted stone sills on both levels. To the right of the bow, there are two bays that include a 20th century lean-to porch on the left and an early 19th century sash window on the right. The first floor has two similar sash windows, all featuring 4 x 4 panes, painted stone sills, and wedge lintels. There is a band between the floors made of stretchers, which is supported by alternately projecting headers. The building has lateral gable end chimney stacks, and there are 20th century additions at the rear.
