Description

The staff restaurant, located 30 meters north of Fulshaw Hall, was originally built as stables, a coachhouse, and an entrance arch in 1890 for R Lingard Monk. It is constructed from English bond orange brick with stone dressings and features a Kerridge stone-slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and consists of a 1 and 2-storey, 7-bay south front.

The left two bays include chamfered stone heads above small pane windows and a half-glazed door. The central section features a stone-coped gabled half dormer and a stone mullioned window with twin transoms. The right end bay has a stone-coped gable topped with a ball finial, in front of which stands a three-stage octagonal clock tower with a louvred wooden bellcote and a lead cupola roof. There is a three-centred arched window with a label mould in the gable, and louvred ventilators are positioned on the ridge. At the right end, there is a segmental entrance arch with a shaped stone-coped top, also topped with a ball finial, which contains a date plaque.

This building is listed for its group value.
