Description
31 Manchester Road is a former weaver's cottage that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. The building features partly washed orange brick in English garden wall bond and is topped with a Welsh slate roof and two brick chimneys.
The front of the building is three stories high and symmetrical with three bays. On the ground floor, there are two Georgian-style bowed shop windows on either side of a pair of half-glazed doors, all framed by a simple wooden architrave. Above, the second floor has two 4-pane sash windows set beneath cambered brick heads, while the top storey features a three-light wooden casement window that was part of the former weaving loft.
