Description

The garden chamber, also known as a grotto, is located in the walled garden of Brereton Hall and dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of stone and brick and is situated at the end of a sunken ornamental canal. The chamber features a horseshoe basket arch made of stone and has a brick vaulted roof. Much of the chamber is positioned below ground level, aligned with the axis of the sunken canal.
