Description

The Grotto in the garden of The Cosener's House is likely from the 19th century. It features two circular chambers made of brick, which are covered with roughly cast moulded plaster decorated with small shells. The larger chamber has small semi-circular windows facing the river, positioned high up. There is a low semi-circular entrance supported by a rough column of stones, and an external staircase leads to a roof platform.
