Description
No. 14 Abbey Close is a 17th-century building with a reset date stone from 1698. It has two storeys and attics, featuring a rubble plinth at the base, a ground floor made of painted brick, and upper storeys that are rough rendered. A brick and dentil cornice separates the storeys. The roof has two gables that break the eaves, each with one window. The left window is modern, while the right window has a slightly segmental arch and is a double hung sash with glazing bars.
On the first floor, there are three windows; two of these have segmental arches, wood frames, and are double hung sashes with glazing bars. To the left, there is one flush framed window that is also a double hung sash with glazing bars. The ground floor has three windows, two of which have segmental arches and are double hung sashes with glazing bars. There is also a shallow canted bay window with glazing bars and a tiled roof. The entrance features a six-panel door with a two-panel rectangular fanlight above it. The date is also noted on the chimney.
