Description

The Old Rectory, now a house, was probably built in the early 18th century and subsequently altered and extended in the 19th century, with further internal modifications in the mid-20th century. Constructed of brown brick with a tiled roof, the house is two storeys plus attics, with a symmetrical three-window front. The slightly projecting central bay features a double entrance of 3-panel doors with flush lower panels, a radial-bar fanlight, and an 18-pane sash window to the second storey. There is a 12-pane recessed sash window in the attic, and a pair of 18-pane sashes to each main storey in each wing. A lantern with a pyramidal roof sits on the ridge above the stair. Large, flush gable chimneys are present. 19th-century extensions and modifications are visible at the rear.

The interior includes notable features, such as an open-well oak staircase from the early 18th century, and doors of around 1700. A 19th-century study with pine panelling and a Gothick fireplace is also present.
