Description
The garden wall, gatepiers, and grotto date from the early 19th century and enclose a rectangular area that was once a kitchen garden, located to the north-west of the former mansion. The structure features large piers at the southern corners and smaller piers at the gateways. The southern boundary consists of a lower crinkle-crankle wall with a central gateway. The wall is constructed of red brick in Flemish Garden Wall bond, with some sections incorporating blue headers. The walls have brick capping, and the piers are topped with stone caps. In the north-east corner, there is a brick-walled enclosure that includes a rustic hollow cement form of a grotto, which has been significantly reduced and no longer has its original glazed cover.
