Description
The Stable Block is a late 19th-century structure that includes stables and a coachhouse, arranged around a courtyard in a symmetrical layout. The main block, located on the east side, is tall and features living accommodation in the attic. It is flanked by single-storey stables that run along the north and south sides, with lower former piggery units at the west end. A boundary wall on the west side turns inward to create two piers that form the central entrance to the courtyard. The building is constructed with brick walls in English bond and includes relieving arches, topped with mostly hipped tiled roofs.
On the east elevation, there are sash windows in three dormers, as well as in the centre and sides of the ground floor. The west elevation facing the courtyard features a central tower with a pyramid roof supported by large eaves brackets, a clock face, and louvres beneath a pyramid cap at the top. Below the tower are two round-headed doorways, flanked by larger double carriage entrances. The wings of the building have small windows and stable doors that open into the courtyard.
