Description

This canal milepost, dating from around 1827, is made of yellow sandstone ashlar. It has a rectangular shape with an arched top, while one side is roughly hewn. The northern face of the milepost is inscribed with "From/Hall Green/(obscure) Mile," and the southern face reads "From/Marple/26 Miles."
