Description

Bridge No. 91 is a road bridge that carries Portland Drive over the Macclesfield Canal. It was built around 1827 by William Crosley. The bridge is constructed from yellow sandstone coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. It features a single span with a horseshoe arch made of voussoirs and a projecting keystone that connects to a band below the parapet. The walls on either side are battered, and there are curved retaining walls that end in square piers. The top of the parapet has chamfered coping.
