Description

Canal Bridge No. 89 is a farm bridge located off Cinder Hill Lane, spanning the Macclesfield Canal. It was built around 1827 by William Crosley. The bridge is constructed from yellow sandstone coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. It features a single span with a horseshoe arch made of voussoirs and a prominent projecting keystone that connects to a projecting band beneath the parapet. The walls on either side are battered, and there are curved retaining walls that end in square piers. The top of the parapet is finished with chamfered coping.
