Description
This is an early 17th-century cottage, with later additions, now forming two separate dwellings. The building is timber-framed with some roughcast rendering and exposed timbers. It is two storeys and has an attic, originally two bays wide, with a further bay added to the west and a north wing creating an "L" shaped plan. The western cottage shows exposed timber framing with small framing details in the facade, alongside a substantial rendered brick addition, painted black and white. Exposed timbers are also visible at the rear of this section. The eastern cottage retains a complete timber-framed gable, but the facade is covered with roughcast. Windows in the western cottage are replaced casements with leaded lights, while those in the east are flush casements with glazing bars. A gable bargeboard with finials and a central stack are prominent features. The interior includes bevelled beams, exposed timbers in the original western cottage gable, and old ledged and battened doors.
