Description

The walled enclosure south of Woodhey Chapel is a Grade II listed structure dating from the early 17th century. It surrounds a garden that was once part of the former Woodhey Hall. The wall is constructed of red brick in English Garden Wall Bond, featuring stone dressing. It has a stone plinth and small bricks with wide joints. There are some flush stone dressings at changes in direction, along with one and two course moulded stone coping. The coping includes curved ramps where the wall height varies. This wall is closely associated with the garden loggia, which is part of the garden wall and later became part of Woodhey Chapel.
