Description
The Round House is a late 18th-century building that was formerly a village bridewell and is now a house. It is constructed of red brick in stretcher bond and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and an octagonal plan, with five faces containing windows and two faces with doors. The windows are flush casement style with flat arches. There are half-glazed doors at the sides, which are part of added timber and glass porches. The eaves have a three-course deep band with a dentil middle course. The roof has lead hips and a square central stack. Inside, the walls of the rooms radiate from the center, and there are cased beams. The interior has been modernised.
