Description
The stable building located southeast of Woodhey Chapel is a former stable with accommodation, dating from the early 17th century. It is constructed of red brick with blue brick features and has a tiled roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of five bays. It features a high stone plinth with a bevelled top course and flush stone quoins. There are four-light stone dressed mullion windows on both levels. The original wide-boarded door has been replaced and is set in an ovolo moulded stone opening, which includes a deep head and a moulded cornice above. The east face of the building displays an all-over diamond pattern diaper work. Inside, there are ovolo moulded beams and heavy joists, along with queen-post trusses and old purlins that have wind braces.
