Description

This barn, located approximately 20 metres west of Ryal Farmhouse, dates back to 1771. It is constructed of watershot coursed sandstone and features a corrugated sheet roof, with kneelers that once supported gable copings, now missing. The barn has five bays and includes a segmental-arched wagon entrance in the middle bay, which is partially boarded. To the left of this entrance, there are three ground floor windows, while to the right, there is a doorway topped with a large lintel that bears a datestone with the incised lettering "C J & S 1771." The left end wall of the barn has three doorways, all of which have been altered.
