Description
This barn, located approximately 30 metres west of Earcroft farmhouse, dates back to 1688. It is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble with quoins and features a stone slate roof. The barn consists of four bays; the first bay projects, while the second bay includes a wagon entrance with a porch roof supported by a moulded double corbel on the right. The fourth bay has a door and one window on each floor. The left end wall has three doorways with chamfered surrounds, two of which have been altered into windows. The lintel of the central doorway features two lettered panels, with the upper panel being illegible and the lower panel displaying "1688" in relief. There is also a ruinous lean-to at the right end of the barn.
