Description
This barn, located approximately 30 metres northeast of Dingle Farmhouse, dates back to 1727 and has undergone alterations. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble and features a corrugated sheet roof with gable copings and kneelers. The barn has a broad rectangular plan consisting of three bays, with its gable facing the road.
On the south side wall, there is a wagon entrance that has a segmental stone arch with a keystone, which is now blocked. To the right of the entrance, there is a large square opening, and to the left, a modern single-storey lean-to has been added, along with a rectangular opening above. Above the keystone of the arch, there is a square datestone with a moulded surround inscribed with "M..... and James Brandwood 1727". The right gable wall facing the road features a stone mullioned window. Please note that the roof and wagon entrance have been altered since the barn was first listed.
