Description

The Presbytery of the Church of St. Michael is a Roman Catholic presbytery built in 1837 by Ignatius Bonomi. It is constructed of snecked limestone with ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof. The building is L-shaped and connects to the church via a passage. It has two storeys and four bays.

On the west elevation, there is a stone transomed-and-mullioned two-light window and a six-panelled door with a mullioned fanlight, accompanied by double and single casements. The gable facing the street has a two-light stone mullioned-and-transomed window on each floor, with a relieving arch above, a slit window, and ashlar bands at the peak of the gable. The right side has an irregular four-bay return. The roof features flat stone gable coping that rests on coped footstones, red ridge tiles, and three corniced ashlar chimneys located at the rear, on the left end, and transverse.
