Description
Nos 1 and 2, St Lawrence Court are a pair of houses built between 1974 and 1976 by Ralph Erskine's Arkitektkontor, with Vernon Gracie as the site architect and structural engineering by White, Young and Partners. The houses are constructed from pale modular metric brick on a timber frame, featuring unevenly cut green weatherboarding on the rear elevations. They have blue metal roofs supported by plywood box beam purlins and stand two storeys tall. The front of the houses has projecting brown weatherboarded porches, while the rear has plastic door hoods. The first-floor windows are arranged as a continuous strip across the facade, with vertical white struts between them. The windows are made of timber with timber surrounds and aluminium opening lights, mostly sliding. No. 1 has glazed timber doors, while No. 2 has renewed doors. Additionally, No. 2 features a single-storey projecting brick lean-to that includes a built-in seat. The interiors have not been inspected. The front of the houses is complemented by brown fences, and the rear features green fences that are an integral part of the design, including built-in semi-circular seating and a table. St Lawrence Court is prominently located between the perimeter wall, St Lawrence's Church, and the children's playground of Grace Lee.
