Description
1, 2, and 3 Grace Street is a block of flats built between 1974 and 1976 by Ralph Erskine's Arkitektkontor, with Vernon Gracie as the site architect and structural engineering by White, Young and Partners. The building features pale brick and red weatherboarding on a concrete block work cross-wall frame, supported by a reinforced concrete open ground floor with exposed concrete stilts. It has a blue metal roof with plywood box beam purlins and stands three storeys tall, including the open ground floor. The eaves have some yellow weatherboard struts, and there are red balconies covered by plastic sheet roofs, with the right balcony extending over two storeys. Entrance stairs are located under similar roofs and accessed from Grace Street, while the balconies and living rooms overlook Headlam Street. The interiors have not been inspected.
