Description

A row of six houses, numbered 6 to 12, was built between 1829 and 1830 by Thomas Oliver for Richard Grainger. The houses are constructed of stucco with a Welsh slate roof, and have brick and rendered chimneys. Each house is three bays wide and two storeys high. Each house has a right-hand door with six panels and a plain overlight. Doors and sash windows are set within elliptical-headed recesses. Most of the sash windows have glazing bars, although some are blind. Horizontal bands run across the front of the houses, except for number 9. An added rinceau frieze is visible on number 6. A decorative entablature is present on the central house, and a blocking course runs along the entire row. The left corner of the building is rounded.
