Description

Nos. 1 to 4, St James’ Terrace comprise a group of four houses, dating to around 1830. They are now used as offices and one residential property. The houses are constructed of English bond brick, with an ashlar plinth and stone dressings, and have a Welsh slate roof. Each house has two bays, except No. 3, which has three. The front doors are 8-panelled, with 4-paned overlights within architraves; the doors are on the right of the first three houses and the left of No. 4. The sash windows have glazing bars and are set beneath wedge stone lintels; the second-floor windows have slightly projecting sills, while the ground and first floors have sill bands. An eaves band and gutter cornice run along the top of the facade. The hipped roof has ridge chimneys.
